⇒ used in reaction to a statement to show that one doubts, disbelieves, is skeptical of, or does not entirely agree with it (in some cases surprise is expressed as well):

- (oh,) really <yeah>?;

- is that so?;

- you don't say (so)!;

- I'm not so sure (about that);

- [in limited contexts] is it <do you, have they etc>?
